What happens when we stop chasing what we think we need and become quiet enough to recognize what is already here?
Reclaiming What Matters is a four-day immersion for seekers and dedicated students of all levels who are ready to step away from the noise, urgency, and endless demands of everyday life and return to what is essential. Together, we’ll explore the timeless yogic teachings of steadiness, ease, practice, non-attachment, inner wealth, and the transformative power of simply staying present. This is not about adding more to your life. It’s about creating enough space to see clearly what matters—and discovering what becomes possible when you actually begin to live from that knowing.
Longtime yogini sisters, friends, and collaborators Lauren Toolin and Tanya Boigenzahn are especially excited to come together again for this experience. Their friendship has been forged through decades of practice, teaching, study, laughter, inquiry, and a shared devotion to the deeper teachings of yoga. Having collaborated many times over the years—including leading a retreat together in Costa Rica in 2015—Tanya and Lauren bring both the depth of seasoned teachers and the ease and chemistry that comes from a long history of walking the path alongside one another. Reclaiming What Matters is an invitation to step into that shared conversation and practice with them.
And there may be no better place to do it than the Himalayan Institute, a spiritual home for both Tanya and Lauren and one of the country’s treasured lineage-based centers for yoga and meditation. Nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, the Institute offers something increasingly rare: a living environment devoted to practice, study, contemplation, and spiritual growth. There is a depth here that cannot be manufactured. It is something you experience by slowing down, listening, and immersing yourself in a place shaped by generations of sincere practice.
During our time together, you will receive:
- Space to step out of the noise and reconnect with the quieter intelligence underneath the busyness of daily life.
- Deep immersion in timeless yogic wisdom, explored not simply as philosophy, but as a practical way of meeting your actual life.
- A supported framework for returning to your center and discerning what truly deserves your energy, attention, and devotion.
- Opportunities for honest self-inquiry—to notice the habits, attachments, identities, and expectations that may be pulling you away from what matters most.
- Time for stillness, nature, reflection, and integration in the beauty of the Pocono Mountains.
- Sangha and meaningful connection with fellow practitioners who value depth, curiosity, growth, and authentic practice.
- The support of the Himalayan Institute’s living tradition, allowing the environment itself to become part of the retreat experience.
You will leave with:
- A clearer sense of your own center—and greater confidence in returning to it when life gets noisy.
- Practical tools for cultivating steadiness, spaciousness, and inner peace amid the realities of everyday life.
- A deeper understanding of what you truly value and where you want to place your time, energy, and attention.
- A more intimate relationship with practice—not as something you “do,” but as working knowledge that gradually becomes embodied wisdom.
- Greater capacity to recognize when striving is necessary—and when letting go is the wiser choice.
- Renewed connection to your own inner well of wisdom, along with practices and perspectives you can return to long after the retreat ends.
- A felt experience of what it means to live your yoga, carrying greater clarity, sanity, freedom, and purpose back into your relationships, work, choices, and daily life.
You don’t need another thing to accomplish.
You may simply need the space, practice, and courage to remember what matters—and begin living accordingly.
