Pati Richards
Pati Richards was initiated into the Sri Vidya Lineage in India during the Largest Spiritual Gathering on Earth (Kumbha Mela) from the Spiritual Director of the Himalayan Institute. She is an ERYT 500 through Devanadi Yoga, Certified Yoga Calm Instructor, Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, Master Reiki Practitioner, and owns a studio in Jordan MN called Sacred Waters.
Yoga Trainings and Certifications Background
Pati began seriously studying yoga in 2009 and her passion for learning took her to continue her study in Thailand, India, Bahamas and the US. The study and practice of spirituality has been a long time theme in her life.
She has completed both 235hr and 500hr Yoga Teacher trainings at Devanadi School of Yoga & Wellness. She continued her education through Yoga Therapy with Dr Indu Arora, Prenatal Yoga Training at Blooma, Restorative Yoga, and various other trainings. She is a Reiki Master, an Ayurveda Yoga Specialist, A Rebirthing Breathworker, and has been studying Thai Yoga Bodywork both in Minnesota and in Thailand. She has also had been a Minnesota Licensed Parent Educator teaching in the public schools for over 15 years and is a Certified Yoga Calm Teacher which is specifically designed for children. Her Bachelor’s degree in Church Education has been a springboard as she has continued studying spirituality and deepened her understanding of various Sacred texts and philosophies. Using her background in teaching and her training from various ancient spiritual traditions, she weaves traditional and modern philosophies into her yoga classes. She acknowledges and thanks the wise teachers both from the ancient past and present day. She feels honored to work with students and clients acknowledging the light that is within each of us. She has had the opportunity to teach in many areas. She taught studies in churches, started ELL programs and taught in ECFE programs in the Public School districts for over 15 years. She resigned her school position to pursue teaching yoga and supporting the healing of clients who want to live life to their fullest. She enjoys traveling and learning form diverse cultures.
Since moving to Minnesota, she has studied yoga in Guatemala, India, and Thailand, and done humanitarian trips to Honduras, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Nepal. During her first trip to India she was able to attend the Kumbha Mela which is considered to be the largest Spiritual Gathering in the world. In both India and Thailand she has explored Temples, spiritual practices, and deepened her understanding of yoga which has strengthened her teaching and personal practice.
She combines various modalities such as Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Reiki, Raindrops, Rebirthing Breathwork and Essential oils with both her group classes and her personal clients. She teaches yoga classes at the Women’s Correctional facility, at corporations, in Public Schools, received grants for program to take yoga to diverse populations. She also provides private lessons for all ages. She has had the opportunity to lead yoga classes for well-known teachers such as Michael Brian Bakker out of LA and has also led yoga at Common Grounds Yoga and Music Festival in MN. Her students have encouraged her by sharing comments such as “Your class took me to so many different levels of feelings, movements, and connections. I have never experienced anything like that before.” Her private clients have shared, “Your hands are like miracles!” “I have never experienced that depth of relaxation before.” and “I have been to a lot of therapists and I am very picky; I want you to know that you are very gifted, I will be back!” Pati feels humbled and honored to work with such wonderful clients.
